Team & Position

The department of Corporate and Support Functions IT (CSI) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk and finance applications, used by end users worldwide. Our Finance IT (FIT) section handles applications responsible for Finance data collection, Finance calculation and Reporting for Crédit Agricole CIB worldwide.

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist Intern to join our banking analytics team. As an intern, you will work with other business analysts to solve real-world banking problems using data-driven approaches.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large financial datasets from various banking systems.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities in banking operations (e.g., customer behavior, risk assessment, fraud detection).
  • Support the development and validation of predictive models for credit scoring, customer segmentation, and transaction monitoring.
  • Visualize data and present actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Document methodologies, processes, and findings in a clear and organized manner.

 

Qualifications and Profile

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy).
  • Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Interest in banking, finance, or financial technology.

 

Preferred skillset

  • Experience with SQL or other database technologies.
  • Exposure to banking data, financial products, or regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Previous internship or project experience in data science or financial analytics.

The following are a plus

  • Experience in Docker, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge with SPARK
